I ordered the 4, 8 and 12 pound medicine balls with the steel rack. Great texture on the ball surface for non-slip, easy grip. The steel rack is worth the extra money. The balls won't "flat-spot" in the rack. A tip for assembly is to only finger tighten the various fasteners until all pieces are connected. There's a little bit of tugging involved because of the A-frame type shape of the rack. Once it's together, tighten all the connectors with wrenches. The medicine balls are very basic pieces of equipment but are great for levels of physical fitness.
